Puri Rath Yatra Schedule Released By Puri BMC | From Snana Purnima To Niladri Bije

This time around, the rath yatra will be the same. Jagannath will go to his aunt’s house without devotees. Section 14 will be issued with the Covid cut-off and the Mahaprabhu’s bathing procession and chariot ride will be held. Devaswana Purnima on the 27th. For this, the procession will start at midnight. Gajanan Besh will be at 11 a.m. and Bahuda Pahandi at 5 p.m. There will be no Mahaprasad for devotees during the bathing full moon. Mahaprasad will be prepared only for the family of the servant.

The proclamation on July 12 after the full moon. The chariot will be set up at 9 a.m. and the procession will begin at 9:30 p.m. Gajapati will be at the helm at 2 p.m. Bahudayatra on July 20. It will be from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. The chariot race is scheduled for 4 p.m.

All arrangements will be made keeping in mind the Covid-19 norms and guidelines issued by the State government are strictly followed. All Sevayats have assured to cooperate with the SJTA to conduct all rituals smoothly,” said Niti Prasasak (Administrator, Rituals) of Sri Jagannath temple Jitendra Sahu.

The eclipse will end on July 21 between 4 and 5:30 p.m. It will be held between 11pm and 12pm. Niladri BJ on July 23. The day begins at 4 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. The service’s coveted test for the full moon has begun. There will be four such tests. Only negative services can be included.

The Covid test will be conducted in four stages- before Snana Yatra, before Gundicha Yatra, before Bahuda Yatra and lastly, 15 days after the Niladri Bije.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Rath Yatra in Puri will be held without the participation of devotees in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Here is complete schedule & timings;

Snana Purnima (June 24) : Mangalaparna from 1 am & Pahandi till 4 am Hati Besha from 11 am onwards and Bahuda Pahandi between 5 pm and 8 pm.

Gundicha Yatra (July 12): Pahandi rituals from 8:30 am Chera Panhara: 2 pm and pulling of chariots from 3 pm

Bahuda Yatra (July 20): Pahandi rituals between 12 pm & 2:30 pm Pulling of chariots from 4 pm.

Suna Besha (July 21): Rituals to be conducted between 4 pm and 5: 30 pm

Adhar Pana (July 22) rituals to be completed by 8 pm and the pahandi rituals will begin from 4 pm and completed by 10 pm on Niladri Bije ( July 23).

Ahead of the three-day Raja festivities which begins on Monday, the Southwest Monsoon covered entire Odisha on Sunday. As a result, several parts of the State continue to experience heavy rainfall under its influence, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.

A yellow warning has been sounded by the IMD predicting rain and thunderstorm in several parts of the State in the next 24 hours. As per IMD, squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 40 -50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely over off Odisha coast and North Bay of Bengal adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal till June 15.

  • The Southwest Monsoon covered entire Odisha on Sunday.
  • A yellow warning has been sounded by the IMD predicting rain and thunderstorm in several parts of the State in the next 24 hours.

“The low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal persists. Associated cyclonic circulation extends upto mid-tropospheric levels tilting southwest wards with height. It is likely to move west-northwest wards across Odisha, Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh during next 2-3 days,” said the IMD .

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore , Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha and Puri.

Day-1: (Valid upto 0830 Hrs IST of 14.06.21): Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at most places over the districts north Odisha and many places over the districts of south Odisha.

Day-2: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 14.06.21 to 0830 Hrs IST of 15.06.21.)
