Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Post has come up with a new recruitment notification inviting applications from candidates for the positions of Gramin Dak Sevaks in Maharashtra circle.

The last date of application submission for as many as 2428 positions in the above mentioned circle is May 26, 2021.

Age Limit: The minimum and maximum of age for the engagement to GDS posts is between 18 and 40 years respectively as on April 27, 2021 the date of notification of the vacancies.

The permissible relaxation in Upper age limit for different categories is: 5 years for Schedule Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST), 3 years for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 10 years for persons with disabilities (PwD), 13 for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + OBC and 15 years for persons with disabilities (PwD) + SC/ST.

No relaxation for the economically weaker sections (EWS).

Branch Postmaster: Rs 12,000- Rs 14,500

Assistant Branch Postmaster: ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs 10,000- Rs 12,000

Educational Qualification

Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics, local language and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognised Board of School Education by the government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks.

Compulsory Knowledge of Local Language

The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects] as declared by the State Government or as per constitutional provisions relating to the 8th schedule of Constitution of India.

Rallies, Entrance Tests Postponed;| Army Related 2021 |

Guwahati: In view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation, Army recruitment rallies and entrance examinations in different northeastern states have been postponed, officials said on Tuesday.

Defence spokesman Lt. Col P. Khongsai said that all the activities of the Common Entrance Examinations scheduled on April 25 have been postponed.

“All Army recruitment rallies are also postponed till May 31. Fresh dates would be communicated as and when confirmed,” the spokesman said.

He said that the Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps, is organising medical camps in different parts of the northeastern states. Lt. Col Khongsai said that during the conduct of the medical camps, villagers were sensitised about the relevance of personal hygiene, sanitation, usage of face mask and precautions to be observed during vaccination of Covid-19, he added.

ARMY POSTPONED NEWS

Meanwhile, the northeastern states have taken diverse actions following a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases, including imposition of night curfew and closure of educational institutions, to prevent the spread.

The Nagaland and Tripura governments have ordered closures of educational institutions while the lower primary schools in Assam would be closed in the districts where 100 active Covid-19 cases are found in 10 days.

In Meghalaya, the night curfew in East Khasi Hills District, in which capital Shillong falls, has been extended for another week until April 25. The state government also announced a series of measures, including banning entry of tourists from other states.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said that all schools will close till May 4 in Shillong area and government and private offices will function with 50 per cent attendance

.Night curfew and various other restrictions continue to be in effect in Mizoram capital Aizawl and other parts of the mountainous state.
