Bhubaneswar: Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khordha and Balasore in the next 24 hours, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As per IMD, The North-South trough now runs from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim to south coastal Odisha. The cyclonic circulation over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood has become less marked.

“Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khorda and Balasore in the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature is likely to fall thereafter by around 2 degree Celsius over the districts of Coastal Odisha,” said IMD in a release.

Apart from this, light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Nayagarh and Kalahandi in the next 24 hours.

Day 1  (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 27.04.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 28.04.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Nayagarh and Kalahandi.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.04.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.04.2021)

Moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khurda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.04.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.04.2021)

Rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Ganjam, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh and Angul.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.04.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.05.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Gajapati, Koraput, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.05.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 02.05.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha,Puri, Nayagarh,Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Khordha.
